In the era of Industry 4.0, the sector is embracing innovation and resilience to maintain its global edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Highlighting these strengths, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and HSBC, in collaboration with BIDA, hosted the Apparel &amp; Textiles session at the Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025. Participants emphasized the importance of next-generation <a href=\"https:\/\/lightcastlepartners.com\/insights\/2024\/02\/renewable-energy-in-apparel-industry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">apparel production<\/a> and the need to scale sustainability efforts in line with evolving global compliance standards and consumer expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:57px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lightcastlepartners.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-04-15-at-12.34.26-PM.webp\" alt=\"Kihak Sung, Chairman &amp; CEO of Youngone Corporation, delivered the keynote address titled \u201cBangladesh Moving Forward: Through an Investor\u2019s Lens.\" class=\"wp-image-34256\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:57px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Kihak Sung, Chairman &amp; CEO of Youngone Corporation, delivered the keynote address titled <em>\u201cBangladesh Moving Forward: Through an Investor\u2019s Lens.\u201d<\/em> He stressed the importance of value-added production, stating, \u201cWe must focus on producing high-value garments; otherwise, it will become increasingly difficult to remain competitive in the <a href=\"https:\/\/lightcastlepartners.com\/insights\/2024\/02\/aligning-bangladesh-apparel-with-global-sustainability-trends\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">global market<\/a>.\u201d Anwar Hossain, Administrator of BGMEA and Vice-Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau, also shared insights on the sector\u2019s future direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:57px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lightcastlepartners.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-04-15-at-12.31.36-PM.webp\" alt=\"Zahedul Amin at the Apparel &amp; Textile Session at Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025\" class=\"wp-image-34257\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:57px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In one of the panel discussions <em>\u201cBangladesh Beckons \u2013 Export Infrastructure\u201d<\/em>, Zahedul Amin, Co-founder and Managing Director of LightCastle Partners, underscored the urgency of decarbonizing the RMG sector.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He remarked, \u201cReducing our carbon footprint is critical, and while several large factories in Bangladesh are leading the way in the green transition, we must consider the limitations of our national grid\u2014currently powered predominantly by fossil fuels, with only about 5% coming from <a href=\"https:\/\/lightcastlepartners.com\/insights\/2023\/05\/renewable-energy-sustainable-growth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">renewable sources<\/a>. Many factories have begun adopting rooftop solar solutions, but these efforts are largely self-funded. To ensure a scalable and sustainable shift, we need a robust public-private partnership mechanism that supports and accelerates the transition to clean energy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session also featured a keynote presentation by Ranjan Mahtani, Chairman of Epic Group, followed by a panel discussion titled <em>\u201cSustainability at the Heart\u201d<\/em>, moderated by Dr. Rubana Huq, Vice-Chancellor of the Asian University for Women.
