In a significant step towards advancing skills development and job creation in the poultry sector, PoultryTechBangladesh (PTB) is set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Youth Development (DYD), under the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) of the Government of Bangladesh.
On July 29, 2025 a pre-signing consultation meeting was held at the Bangladesh Secretariat to finalize the collaboration framework, attended by key stakeholders including representatives from the Dutch Embassy, LightCastle Partners, DYD and the Ministry.
The event was attended by Dr. Jobayed and Lulu Bilkis Banu, both Joint Secretaries; Masum Ahmed, Deputy Secretary; M.A. Akher, Director, and Md. Shahinur Rahman, Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Development (DYD); as well as Ainan Tajrian, Senior Business Consultant, and Naziba Ali, Business Consultant.
The session was graced by the Honorable Secretary of Youth and Sports, Mr. Mahbub-Ul-Alam, who delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of equipping youth with practical skills aligned with modern industry demands.
Following the Secretary’s remarks, Sara Van Hoeve, First Secretary of Economic Affairs of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangladesh, spoke about the growing Bangladesh–Netherlands partnership in the agriculture and innovation sectors, highlighting the potential of the friendship and diplomatic bonding between the two nations in supporting job creation and facilitating technology and knowledge transfer.
In the meeting, Mr. Zahedul Amin, Managing Director at LightCastle Partners, delivered a keynote presentation outlining the objectives of the MoU and the expected direct impact to be created under this partnership with the PoultryTechBangladesh program.
Other notable attendees included Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Jobayed Hossain and Ms. Lulu Bilkis Banu, both Joint Secretaries; Mr. Masum Ahmed, Deputy Secretary; Mr. M.A. Akher, Director, and Mr. Md. Shahinur Rahman, Deputy Director of DYD; along with Ms. Ainan Tajrian, Senior Business Consultant, and Ms. Naziba Ali, Business Consultant at LightCastle Partners.
Scope of the MoU: Building Capacity, Creating Jobs, and Driving Innovation
The MoU between PoultryTechBangladesh and the Department of Youth Development outlines a comprehensive curriculum development and training program, delivered in collaboration with the Aeres International Training Centre, the Netherlands. The program is structured across core knowledge exchange measures, including:
- An in-depth assessment of the poultry management curriculum of DYD to identify areas of enhancement for the curriculum to adopt international best practices
- An intensive train-the-trainer initiative to equip selected trainers of DYD with skills and knowledge of the new age of poultry management
With the combined expertise of Dutch and Bangladeshi partners, the initiative underscores a long-term commitment to capacity building, sustainable agriculture, and inclusive economic development.
