PoultryTechBangladesh and Department of Youth Development Signs MOU for Development of Skills and Career in the Poultry Sector

On 27 August 2025, PoultryTechBangladesh (PTB) and the Department of Youth Development (DYD) under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Government of Bangladesh, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance skills development and job creation in the poultry sector. The MoU outlines a comprehensive curriculum development and training program, delivered in collaboration with the Aeres Training Centre International – based in the Netherlands.

The program is structured across core knowledge exchange measures, including:

1. Curriculum Assessment – Reviewing DYD’s poultry management curriculum to identify improvements and incorporate international best practices.

2. Train-the-Trainer Program – Providing intensive training for selected DYD trainers to equip them with modern poultry management skills and knowledge.

3. Practical Learning for Students – Providing students with opportunities to engage in experiential learning and gain exposure to real-world settings.

Empowering Youth Through Modern Poultry Skills and International Collaboration

The ceremony commenced with remarks from Dr. Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman, Director General of the Department of Youth Development (DYD), who underscored the importance of equipping Bangladesh’s youth with industry-relevant, modern skills to meet evolving market demands.

This was followed by Mr. Nicolaas Jan Koos Dijkstra, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, who highlighted PoultryTechBangladesh’s commitment to building youth technical capacity, fostering a sustainable agro value chain, and promoting entrepreneurship among Bangladesh’s predominantly young population. He further noted the project’s ambition to train 300,000 youths, equipping them with advanced skills while deepening the bilateral partnership between Bangladesh and the Netherlands.

Next, the signing ceremony between PoultryTechBangladesh (represented by LightCastle Partners) and DYD was held, marking a significant step towards empowering the next generation of skilled poultry sector professionals in Bangladesh.

Mr. Zahedul Amin, Managing Director of LightCastle Partners, highlighted that the PoultryTechBangladesh (PTB) project has been advancing technology and knowledge transfer between the Netherlands and Bangladesh since 2021. He further emphasized the effectiveness of Aeres International’s training programs in equipping youth with practical skills and preparing them for industry-ready roles, reinforcing the project’s focus on developing a competent and skilled workforce.

The MoU signing ceremony saw participation from key officials, including M. A. Akher, Director (Planning Wing); Md. Shahinur Rahman, Deputy Director (Planning Wing); A. K. M. Mofizul Islam, Director (Training Wing); Prajesh Kumar Saha, Deputy Director (Training Wing); and Shahabuddin Sarkar, Deputy Director (Training Wing). Also in attendance were Osman Haruni, Senior Policy Advisor, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands; Ainan Tajrian, Senior Business Consultant, and Faiza Tahiya, Business Analyst from LightCastle Partners.
