On February 18-19, 2025 the World Poultry Science Association-Bangladesh Branch (WPSA-BB) and Bangladesh Poultry Industries Central Council (BPICC) organized the 13th International Poultry Seminar 2025 with the theme of “Sustainable Poultry for Amazing Bangladesh”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The seminar brought together national and international researchers, academicians, and private-sector players from the poultry industry to discuss recent developments and upcoming technologies and trends. Over these two days, 4 plenary sessions and 8 open-paper sessions were organized to present and discuss 50 papers and knowledge outputs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PoultryTechBangladesh is a consortium of leading Dutch and Bangladeshi poultry sector actors facilitated with the funding of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the collaborative effort of Netherlands Enterprise Agency, Larive International and LightCastle Partners. . <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On February 19, Mr. Zahedul Amin, Managing Director of LightCastle Partners presented at the 4th plenary session of the seminar,\u00a0 on behalf of the PoultryTechBangladesh project. The presentation introduced the project and its impact footprint in developing the poultry sector of Bangladesh, highlighting the strategic capacity-building interventions made by the project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It also launched the \u201cState of Poultry Sector in Bangladesh:\u00a0 Challenges and Road to Sustainable Growth\u201d, a strategic paper built based on the recent stakeholder roundtable discussion held in November 2024, highlighting the current challenges faced by the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He subsequently delivered his keynote address on \u201cAdopting Circularity in the Poultry Sector: A Case for Bangladesh-Netherlands Collaboration.\u201d His presentation primarily focused on addressing the management of over 1.5 million tonnes of poultry waste generated annually in Bangladesh and highlighted the introduction of rendering plants as a sustainable solution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
These facilities offer significant benefits, including environmental protection, economic value, and resource efficiency. To capitalize on the potential of rendering plants, PoultryTechBangladesh facilitated the establishment of a demonstration hatchery waste processing plant at Kazi Farms Group, incorporating rendering equipment from Mavitec, a partner of the PoultryTechBangladesh initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ms. Nadia van de Weem, Project Advisor for Private Sector Development in Bangladesh and India for the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, a collaborator of PoultryTechBangladesh, also spoke at the event to present the strong commitment of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in contributing to paving the way for a sustainable future for the poultry industry, through the transfer of Dutch knowledge and technology to the emerging poultry sector in Bangladesh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two-day-long knowledge-driven seminar closed with an insightful presentation on \u201cStabilizing the Poultry Sector: Supply-Demand Fluctuation\u201d, made by Mr. Shamsul Arefin Khaled, President of BPICC and Director of Nourish Poultry, one of the consortium partners of PoultryTechBangladesh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Osman Haruni, Senior Policy Advisor, Food & Nutrition Security at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Bangladesh, and Ainan Tajrian, Business Consultant, LightCastle Partners were also present at the event, along with a rich representation of the different consortium partners of PoultryTechBangladesh. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
