LightCastle Partners has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Policy Exchange of Bangladesh, a leading think tank, to onboard them as a key strategic partner for LightCastle’s interventions under the “Oporajita: Collective Impact on the Future of Work in Bangladesh” project.
Over the course of this two-year program, LightCastle, in collaboration with Policy Exchange, will undertake an extensive array of activities. This includes conducting comprehensive scenario mapping, evaluating policy imperatives, orchestrating a series of dialogues, facilitating partnerships with stakeholders and innovators from the RMG ecosystem, and hosting national-level events featuring innovators, industry leaders, and policymakers.
Zahedul Amin, Co-Founder & Director, LightCastle Partners, and Dr M Masrur Reaz, Chairman, Policy Exchange of Bangladesh, signed the agreement on behalf of their organizations on 12th September 2023.
Also present at the event were Ziaur Rahman, Research Associate at Policy Exchange, as well as Radi Shafiq, Principal Business Consultant & Portfolio Manager, Samiha Anwar, Business Consultant, and Mrinmoy Sobhan, Business Consultant, from LightCastle Partners.
“Oporajita: Collective Impact on the Future of Work in Bangladesh” is funded by H&M Foundation with The Asia Foundation operating as the backbone organization. The project intends to improve sector competitiveness, skills development and employability opportunities for women apparel workers based on an improved understanding of the impact of technology and automation on the apparel industry.
“Bunon 2030” is a LightCastle Partners initiative that aims to strengthen the apparel industry for the next decade— adapting to the emergence of the 4th Industrial Revolution, changing Geopolitics, Circularity and Automation. This initiative is part of Oporajita and is working towards future-proofing female workers in the apparel sector and ensuring worker wellbeing.
