As a part of the PoultryTechBangladesh impact cluster, PoultryTechBangladesh – in collaboration with Provita Group – hosted a Broiler and Layer Farmers’ Workshop on the 26th and 27th of November in Bhaluka, Mymensingh. The training was primarily conducted by the master farmers, Mr. Md. Mahiuddin (Provita) and Mr. Md. Zahidul Islam (UK Bangla) who received training under the ToT initiative of the project earlier this year.
Approximately 60 broiler and layer farmers were trained at the premises who participated from all around the country. During the workshops, local farmers were trained on broiler and layer bird management including biosecurity, disease management and bird performance. The primary objective was to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to enhance broiler and layer farm management practices at their own farms.
Highlights of the training include:
The training followed the concept of “Learning by Doing” and incorporated visits to nearby broiler and layer poultry farms to instill practical learnings among the farmers. PoultryTechBangladesh hosts multiple capacity-building and knowledge-sharing workshops for Bangladesh poultry sector players every year and will continue to do so until the formal closing of the project in the year 2025.
