In June 2025, Ainan Tajrian, Business Consultant at LightCastle Partners, participated in a 4-day workshop titled “The New Data Economies of Social Enterprise: Co-translating Research Insights” hosted by the Edinburgh Futures Institute at The University of Edinburgh.
The workshop was part of a collaborative research initiative of the University of Edinburgh and DataSense at iSocial, funded by The British Academy and The Wolfson Foundation, where Ms. Tajrian played the role of Research Manager.
During the 4 days of the workshop, the discussions were constructed around three core concepts of new data economies:
Aiming to enable a knowledge-sharing platform, the workshop brought together four social enterprises—iSocial, eSheBee, Community Cred, and Grand Bequest—and leading innovation agencies from Scotland, including Nesta, Data for Children Collaborative, Data-Driven Innovation Initiative, and Social Enterprise Scotland. The workshop concluded with a guided city tour by Invisible Cities, offering a compelling narrative of how social innovation is embedded in the city of Edinburgh and the lived experiences of many social enterprises in solving critical social problems.
