On August 4, 2025, LightCastle Partners had the privilege of conducting an engaging and insightful career session on Career at Consulting at the Bijoy Auditorium of the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).
With the enthusiastic participation of over 100 students, the event served as an exciting platform for aspiring professionals to explore the world of consulting, fueled by active engagement, thought-provoking discussions, and collaborative learning.
The session commenced with warm welcoming remarks and anchoring by representatives from BUP, setting a tone of partnership and mutual enthusiasm. This was followed by an inspiring keynote from Ismat Ara Shimi, Business Analyst at LightCastle Partners and a proud BUP alumna.
Sharing her personal journey from starting as a Trainee Consultant (Intern) to contributing to impactful projects, Shimi provided students with an authentic and relatable perspective. She also broke down the everyday responsibilities of a consultant, offering a clear and compelling view of how consultants drive value in solving real-world challenges.
Following her, Ainan Tajrian, Senior Business Consultant at LightCastle and fellow BUP alumnus, captivated the audience with insights into the evolving landscape of management consulting. He emphasized how LightCastle navigates complex problems to develop practical, scalable solutions that create lasting impact in communities and industries.
The momentum continued with Omar Farhan Khan, Senior Business Consultant & Project Manager, who led an in-depth session on LightCastle’s Ecosystem & Investments portfolio. Through real-life examples and market insights, he demystified consulting frameworks and methodologies, sparking curiosity and deepening the audience’s understanding of the consulting process.
A particularly exciting segment of the session was the interactive quiz, hosted by Nuzhat Naoshin, HR Officer at LightCastle. Using a live response platform, the quiz energized the room with friendly competition and enthusiastic participation. Prizes for the top three scorers added to the excitement, making the experience both memorable and motivating.
An engaging Q&A session followed, during which students posed thoughtful questions and explored various facets of the consulting profession. The session concluded with heartfelt closing remarks from the Dean of the Department, who expressed sincere appreciation for LightCastle’s initiative and the tremendous value it brought to BUP students.
This was followed by a meaningful exchange of souvenirs between the two institutions, symbolizing a growing relationship rooted in shared values and aspirations. A networking lunch provided a relaxed setting for further interaction between students, faculty, and LightCastle representatives.
The session effectively integrated professional learning, inspiration, and meaningful engagement. It broadened students’ understanding of management consulting and encouraged them to consider it as a compelling and impactful career path.
