Implementation Pathways for FY27 Budget Priorities for Crop Agriculture: From Allocation to Impact presents the key insights and actionable recommendations from the roundtable, Strategic Discussion on Crop Agriculture — Budget FY 2026–27, jointly hosted by LightCastle Partners and the Sustainable Agriculture Foundation Bangladesh.
Bringing together 22 stakeholders from government, the private sector, academia, development partners, financial institutions, and research organizations, the discussion examined whether the FY2026–27 national budget adequately addresses Bangladesh’s evolving agricultural challenges and identified practical pathways for translating budget allocations into measurable outcomes.
The brief highlights priority issues including subsidy reform, Farmer Card implementation, seed ecosystem development, mechanization, cold-chain infrastructure, agro-processing, crop insurance, and climate resilience. It also proposes implementation roadmaps, institutional responsibilities, monitoring indicators, and policy recommendations to improve inter-agency coordination, strengthen public-private collaboration, and enhance productivity, resilience, and competitiveness across Bangladesh’s crop agriculture sector. Moving beyond budget announcements, the publication emphasizes the importance of effective implementation, performance monitoring, and coordinated action to deliver long-term benefits for farmers, agribusinesses, and the national economy.
