Empower Youth For Work Accelerator Program kicks off in Rangpur

LightCastle Partners, in association with Oxfam and RDRS, successfully completed roadshows, pre-incubation session and bootcamp of the first cohort of the Empower Youth For Work Accelerator Program in Rangpur. The roadshow commenced the month long accelerator program that will provide business development support and investment readiness training to selected applicants in Rangpur.

Roadshow

The team conducted four roadshows covering the areas of Ranipukur, Lotibpur, Kafrikhal, and Payrabond on October 21 and 22, 2019. Over 400 participants attended these roadshows and filled out a preliminary application form for the program. Participants selected from the roadshows, moved onto the pre-incubation session and boot camp of the program.

Pre-incubation and Boot camp

Following the roadshows, the team organized a day long pre-incubation session at the BRAC Learning Center, Rangpur, on October 28, 2019. A total of selected 57 entrepreneurs attended the sessions on topics covering basic business model, business planning and financial essentials.

During the bootcamp the next day, these 57 participants were evaluated based on their past experience, knowledge and business skills. 24 participants will be moving towards next phase of the Acceleration program, the first acceleration session which is scheduled to be held from November 4, 2019.
