LightCastle Partners has recently signed a contract with United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) in collaboration with VISA for the project titled, ‘Rapid Needs Assessment of Digital and Financial Literacy in Bangladesh’. LightCastle will support UNCDF by conducting a thorough and rapid needs-based assessment of digital and financial literacy within the country, among its Small and Medium Business (SMB) sector. This project aims to gauge the digital and the financial uptake, situation and literacy within Bangladesh among its SMB sector by utilizing the UNESCO UIS Digital Literacy Framework and the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) Financial Literacy Framework. The findings of the assessment will be included in a report along with appropriate recommendations.
LightCastle will conduct interviews of 137 SMB entrepreneurs split within Shop Up and Ek-Shop, which are B2B commerce platforms that provide various services to SMBs across Bangladesh. These interviews will be conducted across 7 divisions, namely- Rangpur, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Barisal, Chattogram, and Sylhet. The main outcome of this project is to gauge the level of digital and financial literacy and find ways to improves it across SMBs in Bangladesh, the project is expected to be completed by this month.
