To understand how women’s economic empowerment can be bolstered by the uptake of Digital Financial Inclusion (DFI), LightCastle Partners, in collaboration with BRAC James P. Grant School of Public Health, conducted a study titled ‘Situation Analysis and Design Support for Enabling Digital Financial Inclusion and Women’s Economic Empowerment in urban and Rural Areas.” The study was commissioned by WFP as part of the Vulnerable Women Benefit (VWB) Programme, co-implemented by WFP and the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MoWCA).
To support the capacity development of social safety net beneficiaries, the consulting team mapped and documented the typical journey of a Social Safety Net Payment (SSNP) recipient, from enrollment to cash-out and after. A number of helpful ‘Teachable Moment’ have been documented, which will benefit the beneficiaries.
The module covers a total of nine sessions and serves as a Training-of-Trainer guide for the last-mile delivery. This accessible module can be of practical use to any private, government, or development enterprise looking to facilitate the digital financial literacy of vulnerable communities.
