Position Overview 

LightCastle Partners is seeking a skilled and motivated Business Consultant to support research, implementation, and advisory engagements across diverse development and private sector projects. The role requires strong analytical capability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment. 

About the Development & Management Consulting Team 

The Development & Management Consulting team delivers comprehensive research, consulting, technical assistance, and project management solutions to: 

  • Bilateral and multilateral development partners 
  • Private sector organizations 
  • Foundations and NGO/INGOs 

Our work spans across: 

  • Value chain assessments 
  • Implementation projects 
  • Gender analysis 
  • Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) studies 
  • Project planning and strategy development 
  • Policy analysis and knowledge content development 

In addition to research and advisory, the team leads long-term donor-funded implementation projects. Private sector engagement remains central to our approach, ensuring systemic, market-driven solutions to development challenges. 

Sectoral and cross-cutting expertise includes: 
Agriculture, RMG, Financial Inclusion/DFI, WASH, Women’s Economic Empowerment, Enterprise Development, Market Systems Development, Skills & Livelihood. 

1. Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Development Studies, Economics, Finance, Humanities, Management, or a relevant discipline 
  • Strong proficiency in AI-driven workflows and tools is preferred 
  • Prior experience in research and development consulting 
  • Understanding of market systems, private sector development, and project monitoring & evaluation 
  • Experience with development organizations or research agencies is an advantage 
  • Ability to synthesize secondary information and present insights in an engaging and structured manner 
  • Strong analytical and critical reasoning skills for both quantitative and qualitative research 
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a result-oriented team 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bangla and English 
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint; intermediate knowledge of data analysis tools 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and intellectual curiosity 

2. Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the management of short- and long-term research and implementation projects 
  • Design research methodologies, data collection instruments, and fieldwork plans 
  • Maintain timely communication with clients and internal stakeholders 
  • Coordinate with field teams and engage with sector stakeholders for ecosystem-level collaboration 
  • Conduct data analysis and prepare research reports, client presentations, and knowledge products 
  • Travel outside Dhaka to engage with beneficiaries and value chain actors 
  • Conduct sector and value chain analyses with a cross-cutting, systemic lens
