Academic Experience Required:

About the Development & Management Consulting Team

We provide research, consulting, technical assistance, and project management services to bilateral/multilateral development partners, private sector entities, foundations, and NGO/INGOs. We conduct value chain assessment, implementation projects, gender analysis, M&E studies, project planning and strategy development, and policy analysis.

LightCastle also specializes in creating knowledge content on a regular basis for various sectors, themes, and contemporary socio-economic issues.  Apart from providing research and technical assistance to development partners, we also implement a number of long-term projects funded by international donors and development partners.

Private sector engagement remains at the core of our value addition, and we adopt a systemic approach to solving development challenges. The team specializes in several sectors and cross-cutting themes, including Agriculture, RMG, Financial Inclusion/DFI, WASH, women’s economic empowerment, enterprise development, Market System Development, skills, and livelihood. 

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Business, Development Studies, Humanities, Finance, Management, Economics or any relevant field
  • General understanding and experience in the area of research and development consulting
  • Understanding of market systems, private sector development, project monitoring and evaluation 
  • Candidates having a background in research and experience of working for development or research agencies are encouraged to apply
  • Digesting secondary knowledge pieces on a regular basis to uncover unique insights and presenting them to stakeholders/audience in effective and engaging format    
  • Willing to work in a creative, collaborative, and result-oriented team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize
  • Professional attitude, intellectual curiosity, good team player, stakeholder service orientation
  • Able to apply effective analytical and critical reasoning skills to methods related to primary (both quantitative and qualitative) and secondary data 
  • Good proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and intermediate level expertise in data analysis.
  • Solid problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Excellent English & Bangla communication skills – both written and oral

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing short and long term research and implementation projects
  • Devise research methodology and data capture instruments and data collection plan for research engagement
  • Maintain regular communication with the client as well as internal stakeholders while managing the project
  • Coordinate with field teams for research initiatives and engage with sectoral stakeholders for ecosystem level engagements/collaborations
  • Analyze data, prepare reports and slide decks for the end clients or knowledge pieces
  • Travel outside Dhaka and engage with beneficiaries and other value chain actors
  • Analyze sectors and value chains using a cross cutting lens

Salary: Market Competitive & Negotiable (Depending on Qualification & Experience)
