Academic Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agribusiness, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. 

About the Role

We are seeking qualified individuals for multiple positions based in the Dhaka, Mymensingh, Sylhet, and Chattogram divisions, under a proposed initiative focused on strengthening Bangladesh’s agri-entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Incubation Officers (IOs) will be integral members of the project team and will report directly to the Project Coordinator. In this role, they will serve as mentors, facilitators, and strategic advisors, providing end-to-end business development support to selected agri-entrepreneurs. 
 
Key responsibilities include assisting entrepreneurs in business planning, registration, and compliance; facilitating access to markets, finance, and partnerships; and leveraging digital platforms to expand online and offline market opportunities for agricultural products. Ideal candidates will be proactive, resourceful, and committed to driving entrepreneurship-led rural development. They should possess strong problem-solving and facilitation skills, with the ability to guide individual entrepreneurs while contributing to the broader growth of the agricultural enterprise ecosystem.

Job Responsibilities:

 
A. Entrepreneur Engagement and Capacity Building 

  • Engage directly with trained entrepreneurs, providing hands-on mentorship and tailored business support to ensure sustainability and growth. 
  • Deliver guidance to strengthen entrepreneurial, managerial, and operational skills. 
  • Support entrepreneurs in developing and implementing business plans and operational strategies. 
  • Assist entrepreneurs in scaling their businesses and establishing market linkages for both local and export markets. 
  • Guide entrepreneurs through legal registration, compliance, and adherence to industry standards. 
  • Facilitate direct and online-based market access for agricultural commodities through marketing platforms and e-commerce. 

B. Market Access and Business Growth Facilitation 
 

  • Support entrepreneurs in transitioning from training to sustainable business operations. 
  • Facilitate access to finance, investment, and partnerships to strengthen competitiveness. 
  • Enable digital and physical market access through online tools and e-commerce platforms. 
  • Promote export readiness and facilitate linkages to both local and international markets. 

C. Program Coordination and Ecosystem Strengthening 
 

  • Organize and coordinate events, workshops, and networking sessions to foster innovation and collaboration. 
  • Strengthen the entrepreneurship ecosystem by connecting entrepreneurs with government, private sector, and development partners. 
  • Encourage adoption of best practices and innovative solutions across the agri-business value chain. 

D. Monitoring, Reporting, and Data Management 
 

  • Maintain an up-to-date database of supported entrepreneurs and their business progress. 
  • Track and document success stories, challenges, and lessons learned. 
  • Prepare timely reports and updates in alignment with program requirements. 

Requirements 
 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agribusiness, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. 
  • Relevant experience in Agricultural Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Agribusiness Development, and Entrepreneurship Promotion. 
  • At least 5 years of work experience in providing business development services to entrepreneurs in the areas of agricultural processing, agribusiness, and agro-tourism. 
  • Proven track record of working with entrepreneurs, farmers, agribusinesses, cooperatives, and other agricultural value chain stakeholders. 
  • Strong analytical skills to assess business operations, market conditions, and financial data for actionable insights. 
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders (private sector, government, NGOs). 
  • Ability to identify problems and develop practical solutions in agribusiness or agricultural marketing systems. 
  • Experience in data management, report writing, and preparing business presentations or marketing materials. 
  • Understanding of the challenges and dynamics within agricultural entrepreneurship and agribusiness sectors. 
  • Familiarity with digital marketing and e-commerce platforms is a significant advantage.
