The purpose of this role is to support management consulting assignments by conducting high-quality qualitative (and relevant quantitative) data collection activities. The Qualitative Data Collection Coordinator ensures ethical compliance, methodological rigor, and accurate documentation of field data to support evidence-based analysis and project outcomes.
1. Required Qualifications & Competencies
- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using tablets, smartphones, and digital data collection tools/software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Comprehensive summary, deep research insights, and clear transcription of findings presented professionally in both English and Bangla.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data recording and documentation.
- Flexibility to work in diverse field settings and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Proven hands-on experience in conducting FGDs, KIIs, and IDIs.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in qualitative field research or data collection.
- Prior experience working with consulting firms on qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis is preferred.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct mostly qualitative and to some extent quantitative data collection activities in accordance with approved research protocols, methodologies, and ethical standards.
- Implement data collection methods including Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), In-Depth Interviews (IDIs), surveys, observations, and sampling techniques.
- Prepare structured field reports summarizing findings from FGDs, KIIs, and IDIs, highlighting key insights and actionable recommendations.
- All qualitative interview findings are required to be fully transcribed into English, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and proper documentation.
- Manage field operations, including site coordination, permission collection, logistics management, and ensuring team safety and equipment security.
- Coordinate and collaborate with researchers, project managers, and relevant stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Maintain professional and respectful engagement with research participants, clearly explaining study objectives and addressing questions or concerns.
- Apply quality assurance measures to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and consistency, including routine data quality checks.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of fieldwork activities, expenses, data collection processes, and observations.
- Participate in training sessions and capacity-building initiatives to enhance field research skills and methodological knowledge.
- Has strong management capability and the right mindset for client Management.
