On July 29, 2025, LightCastle Partners facilitated an engaging career session at the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka, in collaboration with the Spartans’ Communication Club (SCC). The event focused on exploring consulting as a career path and attracted over 100 enthusiastic students who actively engaged throughout the session.
The session commenced with a brief welcome and introductory remarks by Saima Ali, Senior Manager – Human Resources, who provided an overview of LightCastle Partners and established the context for the discussions that followed.
Next, Shoumik Shahriar, Senior Business Consultant & Project Manager, and a proud Dhaka University alumnus and former SCC member, introduced the concept of management consulting. He explained what consultants do, how they add value, and the real-world impact of consulting projects. His session helped students understand how consultants think, solve problems, and contribute to meaningful change.
Following this, Jannat E Jahan, Business Consultant and fellow DU alumna, shared her journey into consulting, including the thought process behind choosing this field. She highlighted how consulting allows individuals to work on diverse, impact-driven projects. Drawing from LightCastle’s flagship initiatives, she illustrated how interventions can span micro, meso, and macro levels to create measurable change.
Omar Farhan Khan, Senior Business Consultant & Project Manager, then took the floor to delve into specific project details, methodologies, and findings from LightCastle’s Ecosystem & Investments portfolio. He broke down complex consulting concepts into relatable examples and shared market insights that kept the audience highly engaged.
The session transitioned into an open Q&A segment, offering students the opportunity to share their perspectives, pose questions, and seek clarification on common misconceptions about careers in consulting.
Students also inquired in detail about the recruitment process followed by LightCastle Partners, seeking clarity on the application procedures, selection criteria, evaluation stages, and the competencies the organization prioritizes when assessing potential candidates.
This was followed by a fun and interactive quiz session, led by Nuzhat Naoshin, HR Officer. Using a live platform that displayed real-time answers and rankings, the quiz sparked excitement and friendly competition. Students participated enthusiastically, and the top three performers received prizes in recognition of their quick thinking and knowledge.
The session concluded with a gift distribution ceremony and closing reflections. Students expressed their appreciation for the learning experience and showed genuine interest in exploring consulting as a future career path.
