SheSTEM, an initiative led by LightCastle as the consortium partner, organized a course co-design workshop at North South University (NSU) on Wednesday, September 18. The workshop aimed to boost the employability of female STEM graduates through SheSTEM’s focused efforts.
In collaboration with NSU’s Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the event focused on developing the “Data Science & Analytics” career track. The goal was to gather feedback from female STEM students to align the courses with their career aspirations.
The workshop began with a presentation outlining the course plan. Students shared their experiences with online learning, preferred formats, and perceived gaps in their education. This feedback was crucial for adjusting the content to provide a balance of theory and practical skills—key to enhancing employability and fostering industry-academia connections.
During an interactive Q&A session, industry professionals like Shazzad Hossain Mukit from 10 Minute School and Md Miftah Uddin from Brain Station 23 shared insights into the evolving data science field.
The event concluded with two members of 10 Minute School’s Business Intelligence team sharing their career journeys, offering practical examples to inspire the students’ paths in data science and analytics.
