This month, as part of LightCastle’s continued focus on employee well-being and inclusive culture, a half-day session titled “Empathy in Action – Building Trust and Inclusion” was held on May 8th, 2025. Conducted in collaboration with Moner Bondhu, the session was facilitated by Tawhida Shiropa, CEO of Moner Bondhu, and Kazi Rumana Haque, who guided the team through a series of discussions and activities centered around empathy, trust, and inclusion in the workplace.
The session was thoughtfully designed to explore core themes such as rapport building, non-verbal communication, gender sensitivity, and unconscious bias. One of the key takeaways was the idea of ‘Understanding Each Other’ — encouraging everyone to actively listen, support one another in creating a more inclusive and welcoming workplace.
In addition to these important conversations, the facilitators from Moner Bondhu engaged the team in a series of interactive exercises, including guided breathing, light physical activities, self-exploration through writing, and the ‘tree exercise,’ which encouraged self-reflection and mindfulness. These activities not only allowed team members to unwind but also created a unique opportunity to connect and engage with each other, sometimes even without words.
Overall, the session served as a meaningful reminder that empathy is not just a concept, but a daily practice. As we continue to grow as individuals and as a team, moments like these help strengthen the foundation of trust and inclusion across LightCastle.
