SheSTEM has taken another significant step in its mission to promote gender equality in STEM careers by partnering with the IUT Career and Business Society (IUT CBS). This partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on December 30, 2024, at the LightCastle Partners premises in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Omar Farhan Khan, Senior Business Consultant and Project Manager of LightCastle Partners, signed the agreement on behalf of SheSTEM. A designated representative signed on behalf of IUT CBS. This collaboration seeks to empower female STEM students by providing skill development workshops, mentorship programs, and career development opportunities.
The MoU signing event marked the beginning of an exciting partnership between LightCastle Partners and IUT CBS, the student wing of the Islamic University of Technology in Gazipur. Members of both organizations attended the event, including club representatives and officials from LightCastle Partners.
During the visit, the LightCastle team held constructive discussions with IUT CBS representatives to outline the framework for SheSTEM’s initiatives at the university. These discussions identified key areas of collaboration. Plans include organizing business-tech competitions, designing co-curricular workshops, and offering mentorship programs. Additionally, both parties emphasized industry-academia engagement to help close the gender gap in STEM fields.

With its strong logistical and organizational capabilities, IUT CBS will play a pivotal role in implementing SheSTEM’s activities. Their responsibilities include venue management, student volunteer coordination, and guest relations.
This MoU signing reflects the shared commitment of SheSTEM and IUT CBS to empower the next generation of women in STEM. By combining their resources and expertise, the collaboration aims to address gender disparities in STEM careers. Together, they will unlock new opportunities for female STEM students in Bangladesh.
