Strengthening Workplace Safety & Inclusion at LightCastle

On December 2, 2025, all members of LightCastle Partners participated in a full-day Safeguarding and Inclusive Workplace Training conducted by BRAC at the LightCastle office. The session was facilitated by S.M. Mustafizur Rahman,Senior Manager-Corporate Training, Sakib Ahmed, Deputy Manager, Training and Trishia Nashtaran, Senior Manager-Program Development & Communication.

This initiative reaffirmed LightCastle’s unwavering commitment to cultivating a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment for every team member.

The day-long training followed an engaging and well-structured curriculum that enhanced participants’ understanding of safeguarding principles, professional boundaries, and ethical workplace conduct. Core themes emphasized the importance of dignity, respect, accountability, and mindful communication in preventing harmful behaviors. Participants also learned to recognize microaggressions, boundary violations, early warning signs of misconduct, and other subtle behaviors that may compromise a healthy work culture if left unaddressed.

A defining feature of the program was its highly interactive and participatory approach. The trainers incorporated group exercises, scenario-based discussions, and interactive games to encourage critical thinking, teamwork, and practical problem-solving. Through real-life case studies and relatable examples, participants examined how harassment, bullying, discrimination, microaggressions, abuse of power, and inappropriate behavior can manifest in both explicit and nuanced forms—and how robust safeguarding practices act as essential protective measures.

To further strengthen learning outcomes, the session employed diverse participatory techniques, including brainstorming activities, small and large group discussions, demonstrations, visual aids, case analyses, and open Q&A segments. These methods encouraged honest reflection, peer engagement, and collaborative thinking. Trainers also used role-play and applied scenarios to demonstrate how respectful communication, psychological safety, and constructive feedback foster healthier team dynamics and stronger workplace relationships.

Throughout the modules, participants explored a range of critical topics such as respectful workplace behavior, unconscious bias, tone and language awareness, leadership interactions, conflict prevention, and the importance of empathy in team cohesion. Conversations around safeguarding reinforced LightCastle’s zero-tolerance policy on misconduct and underscored the importance of early reporting, maintaining healthy boundaries, and responsibly supporting colleagues.

The training concluded with a reflective session and a post-assessment exercise, during which team members shared their insights and key takeaways. Participants expressed a renewed commitment to modeling respectful behavior, strengthening collaboration, and contributing to an organizational culture where every individual feels safe, valued, and heard.
