LightCastle Partners, being the local coordinator of the 5-year project titled, “Women in Trade for Inclusive and Sustainable Growth (WITISG)”, by Trade Facilitation Office (TFO) Canada, recently assisted in facilitating the Foreign Trade Expert consultations, along with SME Foundation (SMEF).
This 5-year project aims to enhance the percentage of women-led Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in international trade as exporters, in an effort to supplement the growth of the economy.
Along with Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Feed the Future Bangladesh, Horticulture, Fruits, and Non-food Crops Activity is co-funding this project.
The expert consultation session was led by Ms. Carol Meyer Campbell, Trade Consultant from ByHand Consulting. She works in bridging the gap between artisan producers and the needs of the mainstream market; mainly working with artisanal product manufacturers to create home decor and personal accessory products for the US market covering different price points.
She has extensive experience in management, sourcing, and buying with a proven track record of successfully increasing sales and profitability for the artisans. Having a focus on the target customer, she advises SMEs on developing strategies based on product categories and production capabilities.
Moreover, she has also provided guidance on creating marketing strategies and supervises the design, merchandising, and graphic design professionals in creating and implementing effective marketing with a consistent visual identity.
