LightCastle Partners has recently signed a contract with water.org for the project titled “Scaling WaterCredit in Bangladesh.” The project looks to scale up water.org’s flagship WaterCredit model, which provides both financial and technical assistance to local institutions (primarily microfinance institutions), helping build their capacity to offer affordable financing for water supply and sanitation services (WSS) services to customers at the base of the economic pyramid (BOP).
As part of this engagement, LightCastle will carry out a Midterm Assessment of the project, evaluating the extent to which the model’s initiative has met its overall goals, take inventory of lessons learned, build on experience, and make recommendations that will allow initial program results to be improved and refined during the latter half of the program cycle.
Moreover, the LightCastle team will carry out a broad-level analysis, conduct in-depth data collection, and review and assess the results from previous exercises to help understand the contribution of Water.org’s efforts to the BOP. The project is expected to complete within the next 4 months.
