Aspire to Innovate (a2i) – as part of its ongoing efforts to build on the Government of Bangladesh’s efforts to provide more inclusive, accessible, and affordable services to the citizens – is currently attempting to address the inclusion of female citizens in the financial ecosystem.
LightCastle Partners has recently signed a contract with A2i and the UNDP consortium for the project titled: “Assessment of Financial Products for Women in Bangladesh” to conduct a broad landscape study to assess the current status of gender inclusion in the financial landscape for different women groups such as MSME entrepreneurs, and working women in various industries.
This project aims to develop an inclusive financial ecosystem for female citizens by identifying the gaps and bottlenecks in the current system and providing recommendations to bridge the gender gap. The LightCastle team will conduct interviews with stakeholders including women entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and regulators. The insights collated from these groups would be utilized to validate the development needs, assess the bottlenecks, and propose ways to overcome them in the current system.
