As part of SheSTEM’s commitment to supporting career-ready STEM education, a Business Fundamentals Workshop was held at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) on 22 January 2026. The session was organized by the MIST Career Club (MCC) and supported by SheSTEM to help engineering students better understand how technical skills connect with real-world business contexts.

The workshop, titled Corporate Business Fundamentals, focused on introducing students to key business concepts relevant to engineering careers. As STEM graduates increasingly enter multidisciplinary work environments, understanding business decision-making, strategy, and value creation has become essential alongside technical expertise.

The session was honoured by the presence of Colonel Abu Sadat Mohammad Tanvir, afwc, psc, Director of Student Welfare (DSW), MIST, as the Chief Guest, whose guidance and encouragement enriched the session and the overall discussion.

The workshop featured Mr. Prattay Saha, Deputy Manager, Business Operations at PRAN RFL Group, as the Keynote Speaker. Drawing from his industry experience, he shared practical insights on: Corporate decision-making processes, Business strategy in large organizations, and Aligning engineering solutions with business value. The interactive discussion allowed students to engage directly with industry perspectives beyond the classroom.

The event saw strong participation from MIST students, reflecting a growing interest in understanding how engineering roles function within corporate and business ecosystems. Through real-world examples and open discussion, the session contributed to improving business awareness and career readiness among future engineers.

By supporting initiatives like this workshop, SheSTEM continues to promote applied learning opportunities that complement technical education with practical, career-relevant exposure. Collaborations with student clubs and institutions like MIST help create learning spaces where students can better prepare for the evolving demands of STEM careers.
