SheSTEM, an initiative led by LightCastle as the consortium partner, has established a new partnership with Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on October 28, 2024. This initiative seeks to drive greater female representation in STEM careers, addressing the ongoing gender disparity in the STEM sectors of Bangladesh.
The agreement was officially signed by Omar Farhan Khan, Senior Business Consultant and Project Manager at LightCastle Partners, alongside Faiyaz Ahsan, President of BUET Career Club. Student representatives from the club and non-club member students were also present at the ceremony.
During the visit to BUET, LightCastle’s team engaged in discussions with the university POC and key officials, laying out the framework for SheSTEM’s activities at BUET via the BUET Career Club. The meeting provided an opportunity to align objectives and explore how this partnership can support the career pathways of female STEM students.
