LightCastle Partners, in Collaboration with Shikho Launches Meta “Think AI” in Bangladesh

LightCastle Partners, in collaboration with Shikho and supported by Meta, successfully hosted the official launch of Think AI. Bangladesh’s first free, fully localised AI literacy course, at the Renaissance Hotel in Dhaka on April 30, 2026.

The event brought together senior government officials, industry leaders, and development partners to formally introduce the course and advance a national conversation on scalable AI literacy initiatives across Bangladesh.

Delivered in Bangla on Shikho’s learning platform, it consists of four practical lessons covering the fundamentals of AI, the mechanics of generative tools, the ethics of responsible use, and concrete upskilling pathways. Requiring no prior technical background, the course was designed to serve secondary and higher education students, young professionals, educators, freelancers, and lifelong learners.

The launch event was organised around three core objectives: securing government commitment for nationwide course distribution through existing education infrastructure, opening a substantive dialogue on AI literacy as a national priority, and demonstrating a replicable model of effective public-private collaboration in digital skilling.

Shahir Chowdhury, Founder and CEO of Shikho, delivered the keynote address, formally introducing Think AI and outlining its vision for building foundational AI capability in Bangladesh.

A high-level panel discussion titled “The Shift to AI – From Awareness to Action” followed, moderated by Bijon Islam, CEO of LightCastle Partners.

The Honourable Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon, Minister of Education and Minister of Primary and Mass Education, attended as Chief Guest. Special guests included Mahdi Amin, Honourable Adviser to the Prime Minister’s Office (Education); Rehan Asif Asad, Honourable Adviser to the Prime Minister’s Office (ICT); and Beth Ann Lim, Director of Public Policy Strategy, APAC, Meta, all of whom also participated as panellists in the event’s panel discussion.

The event concluded with a visionary closing address by the Honourable Education Minister.

The panel featured Mahdi Amin, Honourable Adviser to the Prime Minister’s Office (Education), Rehan Asif Asad, Honourable Adviser to the Prime Minister’s Office (ICT), and Beth Ann Lim, Director of Public Policy Strategy, APAC, Meta. The discussion focused on scalable delivery mechanisms, equity gaps, and the cross-sector partnerships needed to translate AI awareness into widespread, sustained capability.

The event concluded with a powerful closing address by Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Hoque Milon, Honourable Minister, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.

In a country of 170 million people, with more than 56 million under the age of 25, accessible and locally relevant AI education holds significant potential for education, the freelancing economy, and the broader workforce. The successful launch, represents an important milestone in lowering barriers and preparing Bangladeshis to participate meaningfully in an AI-driven future.
