Irti Haq is a Business Consultant at LightCastle Partners, bringing a background in quantitative and qualitative research, computational social science, and data science and AI to his work on research methodology design and knowledge products for development- and private-sector clients. He has led quantitative analytics on projects across the United States, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, with experience spanning multistage sampling, RCT impact evaluation, and automated data-quality pipelines for organizations including the World Bank and IFC. Alongside this, he brings hands-on qualitative research experience, including designing and fielding interview-based studies, coding and analyzing transcripts, and translating findings into formal reports for stakeholders.
Irti holds an M.S. in Information Management with a specialization in Data Science & AI from the University of Washington’s Information School, and a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Data Science, also from UW. His research on fairness and bias in large language models, co-authored with Belén Saldías, was accepted to the 2026 ACM Conference on Fairness, Accountability, and Transparency (FAccT ’26). He combines this technical and academic grounding in data science and AI with practical experience in survey design, data storytelling, and stakeholder-facing reporting.
