CIRCO Hub Bangladesh Completes Second Track, Bringing Together Enterprises Around a Shared Circular Vision

A circular economy grows across supply chains, industries, and communities. Driven by the vision of bringing circular transformation collaboratively, the second CIRCO Track, completed in Dhaka on Saturday, 2 May 2026, brought ten organisations from across Bangladesh’s industrial landscape, with a special focus on the RMG and textile industry, to guide them in developing circular business models and forge the foundations of a collaborative circular ecosystem.

The three-day workshop was held at Hotel Lake Castle, Dhaka, and was organised by LightCastle Partners with support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangladesh, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), and CIRCO International. The workshop concluded with a pitching and certificate-giving ceremony where closing remarks were delivered by Mr. Zahedul Amin, Co-founder and Managing Director, LightCastle Partners, and Mr. Ashim Rahman, Policy Advisor-Business Development, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangladesh.

The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Nure Alam, COO, Renewable Energy Business, PRAN-RFL Group, Mr. Md. Mubassir Rahman, Principal Business Consultant, LightCastle Partners, Mr. M. Rakinul Islam, Business Consultant, LightCastle Partners and Ms. Sakina Binte Belayet, Business Consultant, LightCastle Partners. The workshop used the internationally recognised CIRCO methodology, grounded in the academic framework of Delft University of Technology and applied in more than 2,500 companies worldwide.

The second Track is the first one conducted by local trainers from Bangladesh, facilitating cross-collaboration and diving into the inner workings of each company. Speakers and trainers reiterated the importance of circularity and how SMEs and local businesses can ideate, innovate, and implement circularity practices across the supply chain. The Track equipped the participants with the tools to evaluate and validate the feasibility and implementability of circular opportunities and thus facilitated them to be practical and innovative in designing circular solutions.

The RMG manufacturers and circular fashion innovators in the Track who pitched their updated business design include R.K. Interlining, DenimRevive, Classical Handmade Products, RIGHT, Recycle Raw Limited, Khetan Trading, Bangladesh Industrial Development & Engineering Company, and Ecolery. Together, these ten organisations illustrate the breadth and ambition of circular economy activity in Bangladesh today. CIRCO Hub Bangladesh’s approach is designed precisely to foster these connections, turning individual circular initiatives into a coherent, collaborative ecosystem.

The urgency of building a collaborative circular ecosystem is underscored by Bangladesh’s economic context. With LDC graduation scheduled for November 2026, the country’s industries will face a more demanding trade environment and heightened scrutiny of their environmental credentials. For Bangladesh to remain competitive in global markets, the ability to demonstrate credible, verifiable circularity across industries will be a decisive advantage.

With two Tracks now complete, CIRCO Hub Bangladesh is progressing toward developing two Advocates of Circularity from each participating organisation, empowered to lead circular transformation within their organisation and to contribute to a stronger national ecosystem for innovation and policy advocacy.
