CIRCO Hub Bangladesh Concludes Track 4, Strengthening Circular Economy Momentum in Bangladesh’s Textile & RMG Sectors

CIRCO Hub Bangladesh successfully concluded Track 4 in Dhaka on September 7, 2026. This marked another significant milestone in the country’s transition toward a sustainable, circular industrial ecosystem. The intensive three-day programme brought together enterprises from Bangladesh’s Ready-Made Garment (RMG) and textile sectors. Participants worked to design and refine circular business models using the globally recognised CIRCO methodology of the Delft University of Technology.

The three-day workshop took place over a period of three weeks. LightCastle Partners organised the programme with support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangladesh, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), and CIRCO International. Since its launch in early 2026, CIRCO Hub Bangladesh has conducted four successful Tracks. Each Track has brought together a diverse group of industry players committed to exploring circular solutions.

Track 4 continued the Hub’s mission to equip Bangladeshi companies with the tools and strategies needed to move beyond the traditional linear “take-make-dispose” model. Instead, companies explored regenerative systems where materials are reused, recycled, and reintegrated into production cycles. As global markets continue to evolve, the work of CIRCO Hub Bangladesh remains critical. In particular, it helps ensure that the country’s industrial sector can meet the demands of a more sustainable and resource-conscious future.

Three Days of Insight Exchange and Co-building

A team of certified CIRCO trainers from LightCastle Partners led the fourth Track. The team included Mr Md. Mubassir Rahman, Principal Business Consultant; Ms Ainan Tajrian, Senior Business Consultant; and Ms Areeba Rahman, Business Analyst.

The Track brought together professionals from eight prominent organisations across the textile value chain. Each organisation was committed to exploring circular solutions within its own operations. The participants represented Ajax Sweater Ltd., Turag Garments and Hosiery Mills Ltd., Impress Newtex Composite Textiles Ltd. and Bea-Con Knit Wear Ltd. They also represented Zaber and Zubair Fabrics Ltd., Palmal Group of Industries, NKM Fashion Ltd. and Textown Group.

Throughout the three-day programme, the workshop featured compelling keynote addresses and insightful contributions from a range of prominent voices. Together, these sessions added significant momentum to the discussions.

The Track commenced with welcome remarks from Mr Ashim Rahman, Policy Advisor at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangladesh. He underscored the growing importance of circularity in global trade. Furthermore, he reaffirmed the critical role of initiatives such as CIRCO Hub in supporting Bangladesh’s transition to a circular future. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening competitiveness through this transition.

The programme also hosted Mr ABM Faqrul Alam, Head of Sustainability at Urmi Group, and Mr Monower Hossain, Head of Sustainability at Team Group. Mr Hossain was also a participant in Track 1 of CIRCO Hub Bangladesh. Both joined as distinguished speakers and shared their firsthand experiences of adopting circular practices. In addition, they highlighted the growing urgency of circularity in light of climate and global trade realities.

Additionally, Mr Safir Khan, Chief Executive Officer of Proman DPP, and Mr Nazmus Sadat, Sustainability Entrepreneur and Trainer, offered their expert perspectives. They highlighted the importance of circular and traceable practices in ensuring responsible business conduct and greater competitiveness. Meanwhile, the core Track offered guidance and tools to help participants design circular businesses. The extended sessions then connected these theories with real cases. They also linked circularity and traceability with the environmental and economic sustainability of the sectors.
