Mr. Jamal Uddin, a veteran development professional with over two decades of programme management and RMG sector experience, has recently joined LightCastle Partners as an advisor. Mr. Jamal Uddin will be guiding LightCastle’s apparel and worker wellbeing initiatives in the coming years.
In LightCastle Partners’ ongoing “Bunon 2030” initiative, Mr. Uddin will lend his expertise in guiding and contributing to strategic planning and policy engagement, particularly in the upcoming multi-stakeholder engagements. He will also contribute to LightCasle’s other apparel and wellbeing projects, with a particular focus on facilitating sustainable and inclusive growth of the sector.
In his eventful career, Mr. Jamal Uddin has designed and implemented multiple successful models, notably in the ready-made garments industry, improving employment, productivity, and worker well-being. He has a significant track record in policy advocacy, innovative business piloting, and partnership development. He has led the ‘Wellbeing for Makers Platform’ in collaboration with the Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DBCCI), mentoring entrepreneurs, and driving the inclusive business agenda in Bangladesh.

“Bunon 2030” is a LightCastle Partners initiative that aims to strengthen the apparel industry for the next decade— adapting to the emergence of the 4th Industrial Revolution, changing Geopolitics, Circularity and Worker Wellbeing. This initiative is part of “Oporajita: Collective Impact on Future of Work” and is working towards future-proofing women workers in the apparel sector and ensuring worker wellbeing.
