In November, 2024 – LightCastle Partners has officially signed a contract under the Export Competitiveness for Jobs (EC4J) Project, an initiative spearheaded by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Bangladesh, with support from the World Bank. The agreement aims to enhance the export capabilities of Bangladesh’s priority sectors, including leather goods, footwear, plastics, and light engineering, through strategic market linkages, business capacity development, and policy advisory.
Key stakeholders from the Ministry of Commerce, the EC4J Project Implementation Unit (PIU), and representatives from LightCastle Partners attended the contract signing ceremony. Remarks were delivered by Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Joint Secretary and Deputy Project Director; Sheikh Mohammad Abdur Rahman, Additional Secretary and Project Director; and Aminul Islam, Procurement Specialist, who emphasized the project’s importance in strengthening Bangladesh’s global trade footprint and export.
Under this partnership, LightCastle Partners will develop a Market Intelligence Platform (MIP) to connect buyers and sellers in the targeted export sectors. This platform will onboard buyers and sellers in a single digital ecosystem. The firm will also conduct capacity-building programs, facilitate B2B matchmaking, and provide business development support to exporters.
The EC4J project is a flagship initiative designed to elevate Bangladesh’s export competitiveness by addressing key constraints in target sectors, fostering investment, and creating employment opportunities. Through this collaboration, LightCastle Partners aims to contribute to the broader vision of positioning Bangladesh as a global player in high-value exports.
