LightCastle Partners has recently signed a contract with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for conducting a value chain assessment of bakery ingredients and products in Bangladesh.
As part of the study, LightCastle will be mapping the actors across the value chain of bakery ingredients and products, starting from ingredient importers and millers to local bakeries and large manufacturers in order to assess the demand-supply dynamics, understand the obtainable market and existing systemic bottlenecks. The study will entail conducting interviews with bakery ingredient importers, millers, associations, regulators, processors, trade bodies, and retailers, along with household surveys of consumers in the urban and rural periphery.
The Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) links U.S. agriculture to the world to enhance export opportunities and global food security.
