The final phase of the ‘Export Launchpad Bangladesh’ project came to an end with an event held at Amari Hotel on November 28, 2020. The project, which was supported by Trade Facilitation Office (TFO) Canada and funded by the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), aims to develop human resources in the field of international trade and equip the local Trade Support Institutions, Trade Promotion Organizations and Business Support Organizations (TSIs/TPOs/BSOs) with the capacity to deliver trade training and support services to Bangladeshi traders and future potential exporters.
More than 29 Trainers took part in the event, who got the opportunity to hone their skills and are expected to help future exporters and guide SMEs towards easier international trade. These 29 highly promising individuals, received certificates and were acknowledged by the industry experts after successfully completing the program and were given recognized as verified Export-trainers. The event was graced by several high-ranked personnel from Business Promotion Council (BPC), Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), and Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC). Members of the top management from TFO Canada, ITFC, and the Canadian High Commission joined via online video call.
Honorable Minister of Commerce, Mr. Tipu Munshi attended the ceremony, as the chief guest, and encouraged the new trainers to help improve the future export prospects of the country while also handing over the certificates. He also shared his valuable opinions about the program and gave his insights on Bangladesh-Canada trade relations.
This certificate giving ceremony marked the completion of the first phase of Export Launchpad Bangladesh.
