On 10 August 2025, LightCastle Partners, in collaboration with the Young Economists’ Forum (YEF), conducted an engaging and insightful Career in Consulting session at the auditorium of North South University (NSU). Titled Explore Opportunities for Growth in the Consulting Industry; the session brought together approximately 100–150 students interested in exploring consulting as a potential career path.
The objective of the session was to connect NSU students with industry professionals, provide practical insights into the consulting landscape, and help bridge the gap between academic learning and the corporate environment.
The session commenced with M. Rakinul Islam, Business Consultant at LightCastle Partners, who introduced students to the fundamentals of management consulting. Drawing on his professional experience, he explained the role of consultants, their approach to solving complex business challenges, and the value they create through analytical problem-solving and strategic interventions. He also shared examples of impactful projects and collaborations, illustrating how consulting can contribute to meaningful change across various sectors.
Following this, Omar Farhan Khan, Principal Business Consultant & Portfolio Manager, provided an overview of LightCastle’s Ecosystem & Investments portfolio. Through selected project examples, methodologies, findings, and market insights, he demonstrated how consulting engagements translate complex challenges into practical and actionable solutions. His discussion highlighted the diversity of consulting assignments and their broader impact on businesses and ecosystems.

The session then transitioned to Sinthia Afrin, HR Executive at LightCastle Partners, who shared insights into career and student opportunities at LightCastle. She outlined the recruitment process, highlighted the key skills and qualifications evaluated during hiring, and discussed how aspiring candidates can effectively prepare opportunities within the consulting industry. Her session offered students a clearer understanding of the expectations and competencies required to pursue a career at LightCastle.
Following the sessions, the LightCastle team and students gathered for an interactive Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the speakers. The discussion allowed students to explore different aspects of consulting, career opportunities, and the skills required to build a career in the industry.
The session continued with a fun and interactive quiz activity, coordinated by Sinthia Afrin, and Nuzhat Naoshin, HR Officer. The live quiz created an energetic atmosphere as students competed to secure their positions on the leaderboard. The top three participants were recognized with exciting prizes, adding a competitive and rewarding element to the session.
The session concluded with prize distribution and informal networking interactions between the LightCastle team and NSU students. The event provided students with practical exposure to management consulting, a better understanding of career opportunities within the industry, and direct engagement with professionals working in the field.

Through its collaboration with the Young Economists’ Forum, LightCastle Partners was pleased to connect with the NSU community and contribute to raising awareness of consulting as a potential career path. The session reflected LightCastle’s continued commitment to strengthening the connection between academia and industry and to creating meaningful platforms through which students can explore opportunities, deepen their understanding of the consulting profession, and engage with the professional world.
