The “Building Skills for Unemployed and Underemployed Labor” (B-SkillFUL) program is a Swisscontact project, funded by the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh. LightCastle Partners, one of the Business Development Services (BDS) providers of the B-SkillFUL program, hosted a day-long Corporate Connect Event for MSMEs in Emmannuelle’s Banquet Hall, Gulshan 1, Dhaka on the 7th of September, 2022.
The event was officially inaugurated by Dajna Sorensen, Team Leader, B-SkillFUL, Swisscontact. 25 MSMEs from the leather and furniture-making sector exhibited their products at the event. 100+ corporations and financial institutions from Dhaka and Chattogram visited the MSMEs’ stalls during the product exhibition. Representatives from Bank Asia, IDLC, Langkabangla, La Mode, Bay Emporium, Daraz, and others graced the event.
The event comprised insightful panel discussions between representatives from financial institutions, private firms, and MSMEs representing the furniture-making and leather goods sectors. They collectively discussed and debated the issues critical for the MSMEs to deliver to move up the value chain. The participants of the panel discussion were:
