LightCastle Partners Participates in the 4th Convening of Oporajita Phase II

From 22 to 23 July 2026, LightCastle Partners participated in the Fourth Convening of the Oporajita Phase II: Just Transition for Women in the RMG Ecosystem initiative, organized by The Asia Foundation. The two-day convening brought together 10 implementing partners. Together, they worked to strengthen worker wellbeing and accelerate decarbonization across Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) sector. As the industry navigates evolving geopolitical dynamics and prepares for Bangladesh’s graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status, the convening provided a platform to align strategies. It also strengthened partnerships and advanced collective efforts toward a more resilient and inclusive transition.

The convening commenced with discussions on strengthening collaboration among implementing partners to ensure the effective delivery of Phase II activities. Participants exchanged updates on their ongoing interventions. They also identified opportunities for greater coordination and explored approaches to collectively advance the initiative’s objectives. Together, these efforts aim to improve worker wellbeing while supporting the sector’s transition toward a more sustainable and low-carbon future.

Spreading Key Research Knowledge Among Implementing Partners

A key highlight of the convening was the knowledge-sharing session, where each implementing partner presented the progress and findings of their respective Phase II research and interventions. The session gave partners and The Asia Foundation a comprehensive understanding of the diverse initiatives under Oporajita Phase II. It also fostered cross-learning, identified synergies, and strengthened opportunities for collaboration across the programme.

Strengthening Collaboration Across Implementing Partners

As part of the three-year Oporajita Phase II programme, LightCastle Partners actively participated in collaborative discussions with implementing partners to identify opportunities for the collective impact. As the lead organization driving the initiative’s policy advocacy series, LightCastle Partners explored ways to connect factory-level interventions with national policy dialogue platforms, ensuring that evidence and lessons emerging from implementation are effectively communicated to policymakers and industry stakeholders.
